We certainly hate to do this two weekends in a row, but we LOVE our volunteers even more that we HATE buckthorn!
The forecasted wind chill on Sunday morning brought us to the decision to cancel our workday.

It’s going to be a chilly one, but a toasty fire and multiple layers will keep you warm.

Meet at Camp Alphonse. If the lot is full, park across Dundee on N. Palos Ave.

BE PREPARED: Brush cutting workdays mean brush pile fires and sparks may fly. Wear old clothes; natural fibers like cotton or wool are best. Dress in layers because you are sure to warm up from the work and the fire. Bring work gloves (we will have a few pairs to share). Don't forget your drinking water.
We provide the necessary tools, but we would never say "no" to a treat to share with your fellow volunteers!
CHECK BACK HERE: We will post any updates due to weather or other unforeseen reasons an hour before the workday if needed.
The Forest Preserve District of Cook County requires all volunteers under the age of 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian at workdays.

CANCELED WORKDAY
We know you would do ANYTHING for Deer Grove, but the roads are very bad right now and we don't want you out driving.
So have another cup of coffee and prepare yourself for the Bears/Packers game.
Today all across the globe…including Deer Grove…we celebrate folks who strive to make a difference in their communities.
